I am currently working on new collections of jewellery influenced by the sea and beauty of the Dorset coastal landscape, also an interest in ancient script and tribal design continues to fascinate me and I am sure will feature in future collections too. Using a combination of silver and gold, I embellish designs with carefully selected precious gemstones such as tourmaline and ruby cut in their natural crystal forms. I am happy to discuss commission work for wedding and engagement rings. Old gold and gemstones can be recycled, creating new pieces of jewellery to cherish and adore. A life long fascination with the natural beauty of gemstones was embedded as a child. Time was spent combing North Norfolk beaches, collecting pebbles and sea-glass, bringing them home to later polish in a stone tumbler. Kathryn has a strong interest in gemology. Having passed the FGA Foundation course, and Diploma Practical of the Gemological Association of Great Britain. Continued study will hopefully lead to passing the Diploma Theory. Alongside work at the bench, Kathryn teaches a Jewellery Class regularly at Walford Mill Crafts, where she loves to help her students realise their ideas creating their own pieces of silver jewellery.
